Scientific Stain Extraction vs Damaging DIY Scrubbing
The immediate reaction to a red wine, coffee, or pet spill is usually panic: grabbing salt, white vinegar, or aggressive supermarket foaming sprays and scrubbing vigorously. Unfortunately, scrubbing frays delicate carpet twists into permanent fuzzy patches, while incorrect acidic or alkaline chemicals can permanently set the stain into the carpet backing.
With over 40 years of hands-on stain chemistry experience across Dublin, Brian and Peter O'Shea understand how specific stain molecules bind to different fiber types. We apply targeted neutralizers that break ionic dye bonds before flushing them out with hot-water vacuum extraction.

Frequently Asked Questions
Gently blot the spill with a clean white paper towel. Do NOT scrub, and do NOT apply supermarket spray cleaners as these can chemically set the stain.
While fresh stains offer the highest success rate, our advanced enzyme and reducing agents regularly lift dried stains that other cleaners declared permanent.
Under Irish consumer law and professional standards, no honest cleaner can claim a 100% guarantee, as some substances permanently re-dye synthetic fibers. However, we achieve complete extraction in the vast majority of domestic cases.
"Brian and his crew did an end-of-tenancy clean on our 3-bed home in Rathfarnham before the new tenants moved in. The ovens looked like new, the bathroom lime was 100% eliminated, and the landlord signed off our deposit immediately. Exceptional family work!"
"We hired GeneralCleaning.ie for a pre-sale open house clean in Terenure. They arrived on time, worked tirelessly for 6 hours, detailed every window sill, skirtings, and carpets. The estate agent commented on how fresh the house felt. Sold well over asking price!"
